A conveyor pulley is a mechanical device used to change the direction of the belt in a conveyor system, to drive the belt, and to tension the belt. Modern pulleys are made of rolled shells with flexible end disks and locking assemblies.Pulleys are made up of several components including the shell, end disk, hub, shaft and locking assembly. The end disk and hub may be on piece. The locking assembly may also be replaced with a hub and bushing on lower tension pulleys. Why Use Pulley Lagging?
Pulley lagging is a layer of material bonded to the surface of a conveyor pulley. The pulley lagging is used to protect the conveyor pulley surface from damaging, increase the friction with the conveyor belt, extend the service life of the conveyor belt and conveyor pulley.
There are several different types of pulley lagging, such as plain rubber pulley lagging sheet, diamond pulley lagging sheet and ceramic pulley lagging sheet. Each type of pulley lagging sheet has different variations, specifications and are used for a variety of purposes.
